Steve from Alabama on Turkey Hunting Rios and Easterns

John,

The pictures are from a disposable camera.

The turkey in the field is a [location deleted] Eastern - 22 pounds, 1 1/2 inch spurs & 10" paint brush beard.

The other turkey is a [location deleted] Rio (2 year old) appx 18 lbs. He was one of the two I harvested.

I hung him is the door of a mid 20's T Model Ford that was on the farm. Evidently the body was put in a ditch to stop erosion. The lower 1/2 was silted in. (36 Chevy in the background0.

I had a great turkey hunt. Thanks for your help and also Shaun & Jon at the office.

Good hunting, Steve

This picture Steve sent in to show two perfect points about central mid-west turkey hunting. The first is the open ground nature of our turkey habitat. Many new to the central mid-west discount such ground as not being good hunting habitat.
Steve comes from a heavily wooded state of Alabama and obviously had no trouble at all adapting to our open ground turkey hunting.

What it is all about. Long spurs and beards.
