via email: Hi John, Went turkey hunting with Jackson this past weekend in [location deleted] County. Saw lots of turkey - all Rio Grandes, came home with a one. Went to a small town Memorial day celebration and bought homemade jams, played 'chicken' with a skunk in a wheat field, swam in stock tanks (guzzlers) next to sand plum thickets, played baseball in an abandoned town park, chased an armadillo - country fun! What jack did not say in his letter includes he is a first year member and went on his first Association turkey hunt the very last weekend of the spring turkey season and tagged a tom. No planning beyond a telephone call and no scouting, just went turkey hunting. Turkey hunting does not always go this easy, just this time it did.
