What We Provide

Self guided turkey hunting on private land in Kansas, Missouri and Iowa for the do it yourself hunter over fall and spring season.

Mid-America Hunting Association provides the private land access, recommendations where to hunt and a local lodging listing. The hunter provides the rest of his needs.

Kansas

Of our three states Kansas hunts offers the most variety of habitat, open land and wooded; species, Eastern and Rio Grande; six week spring and longer fall season, hunt methods that includes dogs in the fall and over the counter tags. Start with our Kansas Turkey page to review a Kansas land map and habitat pictures that will begin successful hunt planning.

Rio Grande

Have a read and see the spring seasons setup of a group of traveling hunters and their Kansas Rio Grande hunt account.

Iowa

Iowa spring season is a tough trip to plan with their apply in January draw tag application process and broken spring season. Iowa turkey hunting suits best those that seek one more state to harvest a spring tom. The Iowa fall season is closed to non-residents.

Eastern Turkey

Have a look at our Eastern Turkey gallery for success accounts, multiple beards and more details about what hunt quality to expect.

Missouri

Missouri is the crown jewel for spring tom hunters. Missouri turkey hunting provides the type of turkey hunts that make the classic videos of hung up toms, jakes rushing decoys and too many hens to make a move on the tom. With Missouri accounting for the largest of the three state area toms and more beard length many of our hunters frequently wait until the end of season to fill a tag if not having the shot opportunity on any of the larger birds that will be seen.

Missouri's fall season is liberal and allows the archer deer hunter, quail hunter or the rare dedicated fall turkey hunter a further opportunity to add a bit of adventure to his hunt.

Early Spring

Hunting Over Spring & Fall

Spring turkey hunts are frequently combined with a deer scouting trip in anticipation of the fall deer season. Under our approach to paid hunts is that each spring season hunter may hunt for deer, turkey, upland and waterfowl throughout all state and federally regulated seasons.

Fall turkey hunts are typically combined with archery deer or with the overlapping waterfowl and upland bird season. While the states vary considerable with their fall turkey season regulations they are in general far more liberal in terms of tags available and season lengths than that of the spring season.
