342 members turkey hunted an average of 2.7 turkey scouting and hunting days. 116 hunted Kansas on 137,000+ acres, 222 turkey hunted Missouri on 103,000+ acres and 4 on 12,000+ acres in Iowa. The average was 1.3 toms per hunter. This compares to 1.3 for spring 2000 and 1.4 for spring 1999.

Each spring quality turkey hunting farms sit idle without a person stepping foot on the property, some of the smaller farms in north Missouri are in an area that has a great tom population and less turkey hunter pressure. The reality is that turkey hunting is skill intensive and the turkey population large in Kansas, Iowa and Missouri. Any one that wants to spring turkey hunt for one to five toms each spring may do so.
