Membership closure may be either based on primary and secondary hunting interest and, or overall membership levels. For example the Association may be accepting hunters with the primary hunting interest of archery deer and secondary interest turkey while refusing membership to those that declare a primary interest as firearms deer hunting and a secondary of waterfowl. The driving factor that limits membership is the amount of land that Jon Nee and John Wenzel can manage in a year's time and road miles. That limit is best set at 220,000 acres as past experience has shown. We have been larger in terms of acreage dependent on the type of leasing contracts employed. However, having more acreage does not indicate we increase membership levels.
No trucks, ATVs or horses are permitted on any Association land unless the special instructions on the map sheets so authorizes. And if so authorized, only when no standing crops will be crossed or traveled along side and when no ruts will be left behind. Vehicle access permissions are limited to select waterfowl properties and deer leases. Most self guided wild game hunters will agree that none of us like to be set up well before light and at that critical moment we here the engine noise of a vehicle traveling in the next field to disrupt the entire area.
Landowner and state wildlife agency relationships with the Association are emphatically predominate over that of any individual hunter or group of hunters. Conflict with any landowner or state wildlife agency will receive immediate Association management attention. We exist and work for the Association hunter, however we will not subjugate the Association's security in no means for the misconduct of a member. Misconduct is not limited to state or federal laws it also includes courtesy, compliance to Association rules, sportsmanship and in general good citizen ethics. Guide service in any description is not permitted on Association facilities. This is strictly a self guided hunter organization. And, this includes trade hunts. Hence no guests during deer or turkey seasons. This Association exits for its members and its members alone. |
