Do not wait until just before the season to apply for membership. Ninety days prior to the season we are deep into scheduling hunters matching their vacation days, habitat preferences and various properties to ensure no area is hunted too many consecutive days. Our goal is every hunter falls onto an area that has high potential for success. This leaves less time for potential hunters that want to engage us in long conversations. We simply will not have the time to visit with wannabs. Memberships are for a 365 day year starting the day the hunter is allocated a membership and runs until that date the next calendar year. This allows the hunter to join early and still have the entire year with all of its seasons. Early entrance allows a relaxed period of time to pre-season scout.
Good friends, good turkey hunting, good memories. Even for the solitary sport of turkey hunting, hunting partners can both do well the same day. For those that understand a good hunt is better than a tag filled will do well in this Association. If those that apply do not know what a good hunt is they rarely make it through the interview.
