The Association, this web site and our every day practice is not to accept paid advertising. This web site is for the Association and we have and will continue to turn away request for commercial suppliers to post advertising on this web site.

This is done to further demonstrate no strings are attached to our performance other than to provide good hunting for the self guided turkey hunter.

summer turkeyThe summer months are a dynamic time of year for Mid-America Hunting Association. Many members may not have this awareness as there is not any hunting during the summer. The reality are three dynamics that come together collectively affecting the Association. These are land contract reallocation; Kansas and Iowa deer tag awards and current member sponsorship of new members.
What is important here is the continuation of no competition hunting to include spring turkey season. This is attained by tracking the type of habitat is sustained within the Association.

The value to the membership is the Association staff do the work at finding the right places. The work we as hunters do not want to do. Those that have spent endless hours on door knocking trips readily realize the value of the Associations managed collective leasing approach to hunting.

For land contract reallocation and the deer tag factors the membership has little affect.

Deer tag awards generate recipient search by non-members for a place to hunt and generates an annual spike in membership applications.

Land contract reallocation is managed in relationship to the Association’s primary and secondary hunting interests and is a gradual process with much accounting to accommodate the overall hunting profile during a time of increased membership application. Current member sponsorship of new members however is directly affected by the current membership.

As an Association we are more than a trespass land brokerage. Our rules clearly demonstrate this. We have a minimum expected level of performance of our hunters. Ethics, sportsmanship and manners are inclusive of this.

From July onwards toward the fall seasons the Association experiences it highest number of membership application by hunters being referred to the Association by a current member. The correlation is clear, the closer the hunting season the more interest folks have in hunting, no surprises in this fact. The issue for the Association is how to maintain the open door policy towards sponsored applicants while allocating memberships to non-sponsored applicants without overloading the Association membership.
Once a hunter is allocated a membership his hunting circle of friends will pay attention. Some will criticize, some will ask many questions and others will seemingly ignore the issue, however all are and will watch results. Once the first person from any circle of hunters joins and has a successful hunt he will have his friends inquire of him about membership. The vast majority of our new members come into the Association sponsored by current members. It runs 9:1 of sponsored to un-sponsored members.

The pictures in this gallery is why so many of our members come from current hunters. We do provide good turkey hunting and the good self guided hunters, typically good people, will share their resource with their friends. The return value to the Association and its hunters is that the Association has little need to advertise. The money saved is spent on land that feeds back into good hunting that feeds back into more hunters bring their friends into the Association. An example how we are a business and not a turkey hunting club.
