Jon, Steve and I hunted 2 days in [location deleted]. We were lucky enough to bag three birds by bow. The first day I saw two finches 5 crows and saw or heard no turkey which is a first for me in [location deleted]. Steve bagged a tom with out hearing the tom talk at all. The second day we switched farms to two parcels where we had seen tracks from the road. We each heard and saw turkey. I was lucky to find a batch of toms with no hens around. I had 2 birds by 8 am. They were very vocal in the tree. 7 toms came to the decoys, It was the best morning I have ever experienced as a turkey hunter. Shots were at ten yards. This trip is a good example of rags to riches. Keep up the good work. PS a little warm weather will set things on fire and break up flocks a little. Steve |
